Good Friday morning. Breaking; JP Morgan reported earnings and while beating estimates, the shares are lower by 3.5%, taking the broad markets with it. Two thoughts; 1) who cares. We’ve avoided bank stocks for a decade and 2o) especially with bank earnings, trusting the first move after earnings reports has not been a reliable indicator. Dow futures are -300 on the news.

Over the last 17 months…from the 10/13/22 bear market bottom (a top capitulation event and buy signal of my career)…we’ve written and said the words “buy the dip” more times than Tyler and I could count. We wrote those words again yesterday, with a similar outcome. And there’s a reason that “buy the dip” has been the smartest of smart money strategies; this bull market is only in its infancy.

In order to get to Dow Jones 100,000 and Nasdaq 40,000, these indexes must first cross all the numbers that come before it.
